Sussex beat Northants: 3 days in the sun

It isn’t often that I have been able to watch a whole game, from the first to the last ball.
But the diary that is semi-retirement allowed me to be at Hove on for Sussex v Northants on Sunday, Monday & Tuesday.
3 days in the sun.

Sussex easily beat Northants by an innings and 85 runs, the game over by lunchtime on day 3, for their first victory since April.

Having scored 405 in their 1st innings (Luke Wright 158), Steve Magoffin’s 5 for 12 restricted Northants to just 116.
In the 2nd innings Magoffin took 3 for 28 as, helped by 52 from Steven Crook, Northants made 204.

On the Sunday lunchtime a Memorial was unveiled to Sussex cricketers who died in WW1 and WW2.

Young Jim, the Sussex President, read the Valediction.

And on the Monday I was joined by Grahame Carter, a friend from Chichester.
As always, there was time to call into The Palmeira, plenty of Gossip and - every Good Day Out has to have one  - …

Plenty of Cricket left this Season.
Do come & watch !!
